Miren & Tony in Santa Barbara, CA

Miren & Tony in Santa Barbara, CA
Photos By: Pure Image
Location: Channel Cat Charters, Santa Barbara
The three-layer, ocean-inspired cake featured blown sugar bubbles, spun sugar sea grass, and shells on a pink fondant.
“I showed the florist my dress and the bridesmaid dresses and told her ‘Just make it beautiful,’” Miren recalls. “She did just that.” Bouquets and arrangements included a wealth of different varieties, including pale pink roses, white orchids, and stephanotis with pearls and seashells.
Miren’s five bridesmaids, maid of honor, and matron of honor wore periwinkle blue satin dresses to enhance the event’s nautical theme. The flower girl wore a cream satin tank dress with rum pink trim around the empire waist.
“I saw my dress in the window at a local store,” she says. “I took one look and knew it was the perfect dress. When I tried it on, it fit perfectly.” Miren wore a strapless, corset-back Maggie Sottero gown with a cutaway overskirt created from delicate beaded lace.
The couple married on the Channel Cat luxury catamaran at Santa Barbara Harbor. “Tony and I enjoy the ocean and boating, and so do many of our friends,” Miren says.
On their wedding day, the couple exchanged personalized vows in a ten-minute ceremony in the catamaran’s main salon, surrounded by hydrangeas and the Santa Barbara coastline.
Miren and Tony's catamaran setting served as the inspiration for an ocean-themed wedding in Santa Barbara.

The Groom Tony Armenta, 43, retired casino director
The Date October 2

When Miren Avalle-Arce discovered the Channel Cat luxury catamaran, she knew it was the right venue for her marriage to Tony Armenta. “We both enjoy fishing, boating, and the ocean,” says Miren, “and we wanted our wedding to be a unique expression of us as a couple.”
